Life Study: Donalsonville, Georgia

I’ve been MIA for the month of January. I know. A few months ago, I decided that I would need to schedule a break from all of the hectic photoshoots to allow time to recharge and refocus my energy on making photography the best it could be. After months of non-stop shoots, I figured January would be a wonderful time for a holiday.

That’s not to say I haven’t very much enjoyed my break and that I haven’t been working. This past weekend I visited a small town called Donalsonville, Georgia. This was my small photo adventure.

A woman sits idly by the window watching traffic and the rolling fields of the countryside. This photo has so much emotion, and I lovelovelove it.

Donalsonville is the stuff of dreams for a photographer. From the friendly smiles to the fog rolling in every morning over the fields, it’s beyond gorgeous. Here are a few more of my favorites from the trip.

The pecan orchards at sunrise with fog rolling in.

Oreos at the salad bar in a local restaurant.

Cows! Although they look sorta menacing…

Well, that’s all for this time. If you’re interested in shooting with me this spring, please contact me. I’m filling up fast with weddings, senior portraits and engagements!

Much love,

Aislinn

Oh Canada…Part I

As some of you know, I went to Canada this summer to visit extended family. It was gorgeous! We spent 10 days traveling in the mountains, playing on glaciers, and spending time with family. I went to Canada 4 years ago, but this time was even more magnificent. you’ve never seen such beautiful countryside or mountains so high you can’t see the tops of them.

I wanted to blog today about some shots I never got around to posting. I hope you enjoy.

The first place we visited was Seattle. Yeah I know. This blog is about Canada. Hush for a moment. We flew into Seattle and then drove up to Vancouver(Canada not Washington) from there. In the top right corner is me in a book store at Pike’s Market. The walls were bursting with books, and I literally stood there for several minutes in awe. In the top left corner is me at the Pike’s Market watching the clerks behind the counter at the veggie stall. The bottom photo is the really cool metal tree that was apparently part of a metal art garden or something.

Over the next few days, my sister and I took pictures all over Vancouver. We visited UBC and had  dinner with different members of the family every night. The top left picture was taken in my Aunt’s English garden. It was June and the flowers were blooming everywhere! The top right photo is one I took of my sister at the UBC campus. The bottom photo is my Aunt’s dog, Bear. He weighs something like 150 lbs and tries his hardest to be a lapdog.

Well that’s the first few days in my Canadian adventure. More will certainly follow.

I’ve been editing photos all this week. Go check out my latest shoot at www.aisportraits.com

Until next time,

Aislinn

p.s I love to hear your thoughts. :)
